Strengthening communities through rescue volunteer recruitment

News

Natural disasters are becoming more frequent, intense and complex. Floods, wildfires, earthquakes and severe storms are placing growing pressure on rescue organisations, civil protection agencies and humanitarian responders.

Rescue volunteers play a vital role in this context. With the right training, they bring local knowledge, motivation and practical skills that support search and rescue, first aid, logistics, disaster relief and community preparedness.

Recruiting and training new volunteers is also an investment in the future. As emergencies continue to evolve, a new generation of prepared responders is needed to keep communities protected.

Through VIATICUM 2, we highlight the importance of practical training, cooperation and preparedness in building safer and more resilient communities. 🌍
